Arabic is the language of the Holy Koran and is currently deemed as one of the ten most important languages of the future. But how did it get there?

According to a recent research conducted by the British Council, the Arabic language is the second most important language (the first being Mandarin) to learn.

The foremost reason for this is the growing globalisation of the Middle-Eastern countries and their immensely successful economies. And probably the fact that it is the official language of over 20 countries and spoken natively by over 300 million people worldwide.

Not just the official language of some countries, but it is also one of the official languages of the United Nations, the African Union, the Organisation of Islamic Conference, and the Arab League.

Putting aside the economic benefits, learning this language can also contribute to a better understanding of the Arab culture, which is quite rich and diverse. Gaining knowledge of this culture will aid in the minimization of misunderstandings in the Western mindset, contributed mainly by the Western media and Hollywood movies.

The Arab culture has a rich heritage and Arabs have contributed remarkably to the world of science, philosophy, medicine, as well as, mathematics, astrology, literature, architecture, etc. Learning the language will enable us to get an insight and examine their ancient works in their original form.

And the first step to learning first-hand knowledge of the culture is by learning its language. But Arabic is not an easy language to learn. In fact, it is considered as one of the most difficult languages in the world with many different dialects. Therefore, this language should be incorporated early on in our curriculums, so that we are more inclined to becoming proficient in this language.

And this is the reason that the British Council has decided to introduce Arabic as a compulsory language in the British curriculum.

There are several benefits of learning Arabic. The first one is that learning a language as difficult as Arabic will cater to the sharpness of memory in children as it is a challenging language to learn.

There is quite a shortage of people who are proficient in Arabic as well as well-versed in the Western culture simultaneously. Getting well acquainted with Arabic will not only give you a cutting edge among your peers, but also enable you to set good terms with the people of the Middle East. This will definitely aid in better relations with the Middle East and aid in your business growth, especially if you are looking to enter the Arabic market.

Instilling the knowledge of Arabic early on among the new generations will lead to better relations with the Arab world and eventually put a stop to hate crimes against Muslims, which is undoubtedly beneficial for the future of our country.

With the ever-growing population of the Middle East and the strained economic relationship between the West and the Middle-Eastern countries, it will serve as our national interest to introduce Arabic in our curriculum and help ease the tension. In the future, without the knowledge of the language, the UK will not be able to improve its relations with a number of Arabic-speaking countries.

Islam is the second-largest religion in the world. According to a report, it is soon to become the largest religion in the world, putting Christianity on number two. This new knowledge makes it even more essential to learn Arabic which is the universal language of Islam in order to gain an effective understanding of the Islamic beliefs and traditions.

The fact that the Arabic language has become an important skill will also give an edge to the British individuals in the future who have a vast knowledge of the language.

So why not start working now for a better future of our country’s economy? There are various ways to do that but one most important is by incorporating an important language in our curriculum—a language that will serve as a means of economic growth of our country. If you are looking to learn Arabic, there are plenty of Nassra Arabic Method courses that you can get involved in.
